8 Months Old

Hudson, you are 8 months old now and you are such a big boy. Mommy tells you this everyday!

You have been crawling for around a month now. You are so much quicker than when you first started crawling. You still crawl army style but are getting up on all fours more often. You typically only rock back and forth and then go back down to your tummy to crawl. You sit unassisted very well. You sit and play with your toys all of the time. Your newest thing is pulling up on the couch, your crib, or anyone's legs. You have very strong legs. You will still play in your Johnny Jump up, walker, or exersaucer for a short time but usually you want down or out so that you can explore. You also love bathtime. If we sit you in the big bathtub, you just splash until your little heart is content. You could care less how much water gets in your eyes or face.

You have your front four teeth now. You have also bit Mommy and Daddy a few times. Your teeth are so sharp and you don't understand what you are doing. It hurts quite badly!

You are eating around 3-4 cans of baby food a day. You will now eat peas, squash, and bananas which you use to not like. You really will eat any food that Mommy gives you. You have slowed down on your bottles. This is a good thing because Mommy has completely quit pumping and only has a month or so of breastmilk left in the freezer.

Your eyes still appear to be a dark gray or blue shade but it seems you have more brown in them. I have heard that your eyes are done changing color by the age of 9 months.....one more month to see what they will be. I am guessing brown or hazel like Mommy or Daddy. I would love for them to stay blue.

You are still not sleeping very good. You have been waking up twice a night. Once around 12-1 and then another time around 4-5. This is very tiring on Mommy and Daddy. We take turns on who feeds you which feeding. We have also started laying you down and letting you cry it out again. I think you got a little spoiled with us rocking you and when we put you down you cry out so we will come back in and rock you some more. You are a stinker!

Hudson, you are such a happy baby boy. You are becoming more independent with time and it is fun to watch. You also have become more snuggly recently and you like your wubbanub pacifier more. I think you realize that it soothes you when you are sleepy.

You have been much more pleasant lately when riding in your carseat. There for a while you hated it and Mommy dreaded putting you in it. You have also outgrown your current carseat and we will be shopping for a new one this weekend.

I love you so much big boy. You make me so proud. I love to show you off at work and talk about you to all my friend. You are Mommy and Daddy's pride and joy. Happy 8 Month Birthday!!
