Hudson is getting to be such a big boy. He really is a very strong baby. He loves to stand and bounce on any one's legs that will hold him. He also loves to be on his tummy and lift his head. What once was a chore for him to get to his belly is now just an everyday occurrence. He is sitting better on his own but still needs a little assistance or he will fall forward. Hudson likes it when you tell him he is a big boy and he loves to squeal or babble on the phone to whoever will listen to him. I swear he already knows how to say HI!
We have accomplished something new in our house......no more swaddling! We are so excited to say that we are done with the swaddles for Hudson. We swaddled him longer than we probably should have because he already wasn't a great sleeper and we were afraid taking him out of the swaddle would make it worse. He has a tendency of waking himself up with his arms because he loves to throw them up to his face. For the past 5 nights, we have laid him down in his crib and he cries for a couple minutes and then falls asleep. He has just been getting us up once a night to eat which is better than the 2-3 times he was waking. The first night he cried for 6 minutes before he fell asleep and last night was only 1 minute, so we are definitely getting there....so exciting!
Last night before Daddy got home, Mommy and Hudson were having some play time on the bed. One of Hudson's new favorite things is to have his back kissed or massaged, which is easy to do because he loves his tummy so much. I was kissing his back and I think it tickled and he started wiggling. Next thing I knew, he was on his back. He rolled from his belly to his back for the first time.......and he did it 2 times.
Like I said we have got a big boy on our hands. He will be 6 months at the end of January. The time is just flying by. It just feels like yesterday that I was in the hospital giving birth to him. Hudson is such a joy and so much fun to have around. We couldn't imagine our life without him. Jeremy and I are enjoying every day with him. Life couldn't get much better. Now if Mommy and Hudson could just get over their colds!
